Ole Martin and his gull friend Miguel
who loves perching on his head.
Just returned from a two week tour with Wolfgang Weber, Jonathan Yule (painters) and Hans Rademaker (film maker), to the regions of Flatanger and Dovrefjell, the last a mountainous area south of Trodheim and the first on the coast, north of that city and at the Lauvsnes fjord.
In Dovrefjell area we stayed in Oppdal at the campsite owned by Ingmar, our guide to locate muskoxes and arctic foxes. We stayed in Flatanger at Ole Martin's guest house. Ole is "The Eagleman" the great photographer who has guided many professionals of the camera when looking for sea eagles .
In both cases we saw fulfilled our expectations. We found small groups of oxen, foxes appeared after long waits in their foraging areas and we saw amazing scenes of eagles from Ole's boat. There were also elks, eiders, long-tailed ducks, great black backed gulls, hawk owl and many small birds.
I have to thank Ole's generosity and willingness to meet our every whim, driving, and leading his boat. Thanks to him and Ingmar I could fill about 80 pages of sketches and several watercolors.
